A leading voice on loneliness and human connection in global health.

dr. Iza correll

Dr. Iza Correll is the founder of OVI Children’s Hospital, Kenya's first and only long-term pediatric care facility of its kind. OVI provides free care for children suffering from terminal illnesses or debilitating conditions who have been abandoned or rescued from environments that could not meet their needs. At OVI, these children receive 24/7 medical treatment, daily therapies, and the love and comfort every child deserves. The hospital's model is designed to make children feel safe and valued, focusing not only on healing physical illnesses but also on mending broken hearts.

Iza’s journey and the loss of her nephew Ovi, after whom the hospital is named, have inspired her mission to create a world where no child feels alone. Today, she leads a growing team dedicated to expanding their model of care to the most vulnerable children worldwide. Iza holds a Doctor of Medical Science degree with a specialization in global health. She is a dually licensed US Physician Associate and Kenyan Clinical Officer, a UK Hall of Fame Inductee, and the youngest recipient of the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award for Global Citizenship, an honor she shares with fellow laureates President Jimmy Carter and Michael J. Fox.
